Operates with higher power on the uncluttered UHF Family Radio Services frequencies. 14 channels and 38 privacy codes. Large LCD display helps monitor the selected channels and codes and shows six other system icons, including battery condition and transmit/reciever status. Housing is rugged, compact case that clips to your belt or slips into your pocket. Auxiliary input lets you listen to CDs or other external music sources. Excellent performance

I enjoy riding and my wife finally got herself a motorcycle so now we needed some way to communicate when on the road. She's a new rider, so I wanted something reliable in case she needed help or I can't see her in my mirror. I had doubts about walkie talkies and motorcyle communications. I've tried many different types of radio communications but qalways had the same issues, noise of the engine and wind making hearing all but impossible. When using VOX the enginge sound and wind kept the mike open so the incoming messages were blocked out. I finally found the Nady MRC-11 unit! It was more expensive than the other radios but after using it, I believe that the price is more than reasonable. The engine and wind noise was not a problem, even when using VOX. I used it at home testing it in the house, and thought that they weren't working because I had to yell to get the VOX to work. On normal PTT (Press to Talk), the level was low in a normal voice. I was ready to return them but decided to test them on the motorcycle. What a difference! Yes, I had to speak in a loud voice, but on a mototrcycle you always use a loud voice, DUH! My wife and I enjoy riding even more now that we can communicate at least a mile from each other. If you want a reliable walkie talkie for motorcycle riding, the Nady MRC-11 is an excellent buy.
